An ATS-friendly CV - one that actually reaches the recruiter

Most large employers and government bodies in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf screen CVs with software before a human reads them. A beautiful design the system can't parse means silent rejection. This page explains how these systems work - and how your CV gets through.

Every Taqdeem template is ATS-friendly: real text, standard headings, and free PDF export that screening systems parse accurately.

What happens after you hit send?

The system extracts text from your file into fields - name, experience, skills, education - then scores it against the job requirements and ranks applicants. The recruiter sees the ranking, not every file.

Where do most CVs fail?

Images, complex tables, and decorative fonts break the parser. A CV designed as one big image - however beautiful - arrives completely empty.

How does a Taqdeem CV get through?

Our templates export real text with standard headings in a logical order the system understands, in Arabic and English - while staying elegant for the human who reads it next.

A quick pre-application checklist

  1. 1Use the exact keywords from the job posting - systems search for them literally.
  2. 2Export a real-text PDF, not a scanned image or a design-tool graphic.
  3. 3Keep section headings standard: Experience, Education, Skills - no creative titles.
  4. 4State your target job title clearly at the top.
  5. 5Order experience newest-first with clear dates.
  6. 6Avoid complex tables, overlapping columns, and charts.
  7. 7Keep both an Arabic and an English version, and send what the posting asks for.

ATS FAQs

What is an ATS?+

An Applicant Tracking System is software employers use to receive and screen CVs automatically before a human sees them. If the system can't read your CV, you may be filtered out before anyone looks at it.

Do ATS systems accept PDF files?+

Yes - as long as the text is real, selectable text. PDFs converted from images or built in design tools read as empty to the system. Every Taqdeem export is real text.

Can ATS systems handle Arabic CVs?+

Modern systems used in Saudi and the Gulf support Arabic, but many international companies screen in English. The safest move is keeping both an Arabic and an English version and sending whichever the job posting asks for.

How do I know my CV is ATS-friendly?+

Try selecting and copying text from the PDF: if everything copies out in the right order, a system can likely read it. Or start from a template built for it - every Taqdeem template is.
